Gold Coast Gossip is jam packed full of great stories and features from the Gold Coast and around Australia.

The Bali bombings were a devastating reminder of the atrocity of terrorism. The story of Gold Coaster Jake Ryan who became a local, national and international symbol of the bombings is a tale of triumph.

We have a rugby World Cup flavour with our story on commentator David Fordham. His fight with leukaemia and his eventual bone marrow transplant to come back and call the World Cup is inspiring.

We have kept to our developing tradition of bringing you the best of Australia's celebrities. Following on from the Logies in our last edition, we have brought you the red carpet action from the Music Industry ARIA's. It was truly Delta Goodrem's night, as she swept the awards with seven Aria's and she graces our front cover.

The Gold Coast Indy fun and frivolity which transforms central Surfers Paradise for four days every year is featured, along with Queensland Fashion Week on the Gold Coast which is a great reminder of the work of our local designers with some funky fashion ideas for the warmer moths.

We have also taken advantage of our high quality full colour format with all the colour from the Gold Coast City Council garden competition. The drought has been devastating for gardeners but these winning gardeners show that it is possible to produce beautiful gardens and be water-wise at the same time.

The response to our stories about Gold Coast people in the first edition of Gold Coast Gossip was overwhelming.

In our second edition we have more great stories about real people and their lives.

We unmask the SeaFM Morning Crew and get the low down on Gold Coast real estate trends with councillor and real estate guru Max Christmas.

We trace the successful AFL playing career of Brisbane Lion Marcus Ashcroft which had its beginnings on the Gold Coast.

In a television celebrity feast this edition has an eight page pictorial of anyone who is anyone in Australian television.

Gold Coast Gossip was at Crown Casino for the TV Week Logie Awards to capture all the stars as they paraded down the red carpet.

In a unique look at fashion of the future, we feature the brilliant student designs from KVB Institute of Technology. In a slick fashion show, the final year work of the students was paraded to the fashion industry. Palazzo Versace formed a perfect backdrop for this classy show.

The story of Gold Coast youth Lynton Bassett is a must read for anyone who despairs for the future of our youth. Lynton's story of overcoming his unfortunate upbringing is inspirational.

Also inspirational is the plight of Gold Coast woman Dianne. She chose to expose her fight with post natal depression to help others. It is an honest outpouring of a woman's heartache and overwhelming love for her child.

Gold Coast Gossip produced its first edition in Autumn 2003.

The new quarterly lifestyle magazine for the Gold Coast was aimed at telling the stories about Gold Coast people.

Editor Vincene Wilson introduced the first magazine quoting her experiences of meeting a great number of people with great stories to tell.

"Although the Gold Coast is growing at a tremendous rate and the landscape is changing with the injection of technology and new people, there is a great sense of pride in the community in what Gold Coast residents have achieved," she said.

The Gold Coast is known around the world as one of the great holiday playgrounds but it is the people that make it tick.

In a way, the country town mentality where people are interested in a local person who has done well or has achieved something out of the ordinary is still with us.

New magazines like new babies develop their own personalities and Gold Coast Gossip has a style from which to build into the Gold Coast's own magazine about real people in a special environment.

Gold Coast Gossip took an insider's look at channel 9 television program Who Wants to be a Millionaire, a beauty queen revealed how politics took on a pivotal role in the 2003 Miss World Contest and we interacted with Sea World's famous polar bears.

The first edition established a tradition of great fashion features and feature stories on local people including author Jennifer Bacia and performers such as Toni Janke, Lace Malloch and Tenielle Stoltenkamp.

Coastwatch legend Ken Brown featured and some four legged movie stars showed the humourous side of working with animals.

Gold Coast Gossip’s number 1 edition was a jam packed magazine supported by advertising from many and varied Gold Coast businesses.
